The Top 100 Diet Secrets: 100 Tried and Tested Ways to Lose Weight and Stay Slim [Paperback]This little books explains in the first few pages the importance of eating whole foods as the primary source of your diet. It also gives 10 tips for weight loss.
1. Avoid processed foods.
2. Drink 8 glasses of water a day.
3. Control the amount you eat.
4. Eat healthy whole food snacks between meals.
5. Increase your steps to 10,000 a day.
6. Focus on eating not watching TV at meal time, etc.
7. Eat a varied diet.
8. Cut out foods that make you feel bloated.
9. Take up skin brushing.
10. Keep a food and weight loss diary.

The rest of the book expains the top 100 food items to eat to lose weight along with a recipe for each one and the nutrients found in each. The items profiled are nuts, fruit, vegatables, spices, herbs, water, teas, and fruit juice.
I agree with the book, it would be a great starter book if you are just starting to learn about nutrition, but if you are familiar with these concepts look for another book. I suggest the Warrior diet, the Zone, or Super Foods for someone who has already tried the basics and not been successful.
