This book was recommended to be by a friend who brought it after reading a magazine article by the author. Who needs another diet book, I thought. But after talking with my friend and looking at her book I knew I had to have it. The Yogurt Diet is the first diet book I've read that clearly explains how the digestive system works and why it's so important to have a bacterial balance in your GI tract. I never realized, for example, that antibiotics can do as much harm as good, or that so many ailments can be caused by simply not having enough "good" bacteria in your system. On the practical side, I've been eating yogurt regularly for a number of weeks and already feel better. I was never a bad eater, but since reading the book I've made some changes, like eating yogurt at least twice a day, cooking exclusively with Olive Oil and eliminating products containing high fructose corn syrup. Everything is explained in a concise and easy-to-understand manner by the author and her recipes are great. Not to mention how easy it is to make your own yogurt. I would heartily recommend this book to anyone who is serious about improving their health and stabilizing their weight without going on one of those diets you know are temporary and that you'll never stick to, and is probably expensive to boot.
