Apples & Pears: The Body Shape Solution for Weight Loss and Wellness [Hardcover]If you're an apple shape you won't feel very good about yourself after reading this book.The book goes into detail about all the various apple related health problems - cardiovascular, reproductive, even psychological (apparently, apple shapes suffer from more stress and depression - yet pear shapes suffer from more body image problems?!?) Additionally, there seemed to be a lot of words of encouragement for pears and virtually none for apples - and since apples are apparently at such a higher risk for all of these unpleasant conditions (again, everything from psycholgical to hormonal to vascular) aren't we the ones that need the words of encouragement?It didn't make me feel too good to read that even if I lose as much weight as I possibly can (and do it in the healthiest manner possible), I'm still an apple shape and therefore still at a higher risk for the above said problems.I find that hard to believe.

If you're pear shaped and don't like your body, read this book - I guarantee you'll feel better about yourself after.If you're apple shaped, DO NOT read this book.It will only make you feel worse.If you're an apple who has struggled with your weight for years (like me) you most likely know that carrying excess weight around your middle is not healthy - you don't need to read a whole book devoted to explaining how bad it is.

If you're an apple shape looking for advice on whittling your waistline, read The Abs Diet instead.

It also has some wonderful recipes created by chefs. My daughter is using it right now and is finding it very helpful. Adele Puhn is so down to earth with her advice, it feels like you have her right there by your side cheering you on to success with her common sense diet.

Weight Release A Liberating Journey: The Powerful New Way to Release Weight Forever [Paperback]I think this book takes a great approach to "releasing" extra pounds but I don't think that it necessarily stands alone.The author really doesn't provide enough (or really any) guidelines for what to eat.This book does however do an amazing job of helping people look at the deeper reasons for their poor eating habits.

I have read a lot of diet books, and this book is clearly different.Honestly, I believe this approach is going to be more effective in the long run than any fad diet.To the author's credit, he even mentions in the book that you may want to buy someone else's book for nutritional guidelines - I think that is excellent advice.

Coupled with a really good "diet" program, I believe this is an excellent book.The author makes a really good point that if you loose weight, without looking at the real reasons for your poor eating habits, you will find the weight again.That has been my experience.This time I am combining the program from this book with a more traditional weight loss plan.I hope it works.

Pet Health and Diet Record BookI looked forever for the best pet health record book.I liked the size of this one, all others are the size of a notebook! But when I got it, it was not what I expected. All the health information is on different pages so you have to flip through to get from medications, vaccinations and preventions.And there are no tabs to make this easier. There is not a folder to hold important papers and there is little room to write. Not bad, if you are not expecting much, but I am looking for another book.
