The Diet Advisor: The Complete Guide to Choosing the Right Diet for YouI've bought and tried almost every diet book evaluated in The Diet Advisor, and I'm always looking for something new, so I decided to see what the authors thought was the best all around weight loss program. Turns out the two they like best were the only two I've had any success with (Weight Watchers and Volumetrics), so there were no surprises there.
The good things about this book are that it tells you for each diet whether it's a quick fix or long term solution, whether you'll lose weight if you follow it (some of the diets are NOT low calorie, which surprised me), and how it meausures up nutritionally (based on the US food pyramid).
I would've liked some sort of questionnaire that would tell me which diet is best for me (w/o having to read each and every one), but that is the only drawback to what is a thorough, scientific, and objective evaluation of today's most popular diets.
