The Drinking Man's Diet: How to Lose Weight with a Minimum of Willpower [Illustrated] [Paperback] Review

The Drinking Man's Diet: How to Lose Weight with a Minimum of Willpower [Paperback]With all the low carb diet hype going on now, leave it to the food industry to find a way to exploit it!
I highly recommend reading Roberts book FIRST -If you want a successful, simple, healthy way to use this diet- BEFORE you start buying all the so called low carb 'stuff' that is rapidly appearing on the food market shelves!
I first became aware of this diet back in the '60s - The Canadian Air Force was using it for their pilot's. Then Jameson and Williams picked up on it in 1964, and published a small booklet, with this same title [which I have and still use], from which Roberts has based an excellent updated version-and provides what is probably a more accurate, realistic listing of the carbohydrates grams, and new recipes and meal ideas.
The premise of this diet is very simple - This is a diet for healthy people - so talk with your doctor first. And yes, you still have to excerise!
You can have fresh strawberries, eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast. There are plenty of fruits and vegetables allowed -and Roberts walks you thru what is a fairly 'painless' diet that works. Vegetarians and Cholesterol watchers can use this diet.
Turn a blind eye to the junk being touted as low carb, and run, don't walk, to Roberts book!
