Oxycise! [Paperback] Review

Oxycise [Paperback]I did this program for about five months and was pleased to find that it actually did work, and it does feel good. You can lose weight on it (I lost about 10 pounds in 3-4 months) and it does develop you aerobically. (Ifound myself less out-of-breath when I exerted myself in whatever task Ihad on hand.) You can do as much as you like and as little as about 15minutes a day, and this is a =real= 15 minutes, not an =exercise= 15minutes, which normally doesn't include warming up, cooling down,showering, changing clothes, et cetera.
Since the complete thing takes 15minutes, doesn't require a warm-up or a cool-down, isn't likely to make yousweat, or even require work-out clothes, it's a good way to get someactivity into your life. It's easy to do when injured, and probably even agood idea when sick in many cases, unlike most workouts. You can even do itin the car.
Are there problems with it? Well, yes, you might find it veryunpleasant to actually =do=. Intense breathing is not for everyone. (Somepeople compare it to yoga, but it's not at all meditative.) You're also notgoing to get the kind of muscles you'll get from the Body-for-LIFE program(for example) or the sort of weight-loss you might get from the Atkinsdiet.
But ultimately, I'm glad to have this program in my exercisearsenal. It can give you an energy boost when you're stuck in traffic, giveyou a way to keep your aerobic level up after a long period of notexercising, and is definitely a worthwhile effort.

It did not talk down to me or over my head with a lot of doctor mumbo jumbo but I know I'll appreciate doctor mumbo jumbo much more than I ever have before. It was a very fresh look at sticking with it which I know now how to do. And I can't wait to go on my next vacation!

Slim Forever - For Women: Subliminal Self-Help [Abridged, Audiobook] [Audio CD] Review

Slim Forever - For Women: Subliminal Self-Help [Audio CD]I was encouraged by the other reviews of this CD that I read here and thought I'd give it a shot.I was skeptical that just listening to a CD could actually work on my subconscious mind and help me to eat better and less, but I wanted to be surprised and proven wrong.

I listened to the CD almost every night at bedtime for four weeks, and aside from disturbing my sleep for the first few nights, I noticed no effect whatsoever, much less on my eating habits.Maybe the problem was that the messages weren't really tailored to my personal food issues - these messages mention specific food-related things a couple of times, but they're primarily more related to generic self-esteem issues.I did like that there was enough complexity to the text that I didn't find myself reciting it half a beat ahead of the script, but the messages are still consistent.

Track 1 is an introduction to the CD with publisher information and stuff that you might find in the foreword of a book.Track 2 is a deep-breathing relaxation exercise (which I found to go too fast to allow me to actually take deep breaths, but I have big lungs).Track 3 begins the main text, and I think tracks 4 and maybe 5 are set at points within the audible text.The second half of the CD (tracks maybe 5 and 6) is pleasant enough music (though largely unremarkable) with a sort of breaking wave sound underneath.I'm assuming that's where they somehow mask the messages, though I couldn't distinguish any speech consciously.The entire thing is about an hour long.I don't know what the whole "abridged" notation is about in the item description, as the length seems comparable to the cassette version.

So, it's probably not going to hurt you to listen to this CD, but there's nothing to say that it will definitely help, either.For the price, it might be worth a shot, and buying it used makes it even more worthwhile to at least try.I'll stick with trying to get back on my formal healthy eating plan and keep going to Curves, though.

Listen and Lose Weight: The Breakthrough Hypnosis Program for Permanent Weight LossHave been using for about two weeks.You have be to open to relaxation and willing to accept suggestion.I chose to customize the program for me, by loading the cd to an mp3 file, then using an audio program to take segments of the audio out.What I ended up with was a custom audio file that I was then able to run in an endless loop.I did not want it waking me at the end of every 30 minute session.I have two programs from Glenn Harold that I run end to end, then loaded it to an mp3 player and set it to repeat so that as long as I wanted I could use the program... namely at night while sleeping.Normally as one sleeps there are periods of twilight sleep where we are most suggestable.This is how I use it.You are never in a deep trance, and when awake are totally aware of your surounding.When the alarm goes off in the a.m. I wake normally.As far as the program itself goes, it is good.You get used to the british accent after a while, but is a little distracting in the beginning.Have been using my adjust program for two weeks and have lost ten pounds, without exercise or doing anything artificial.I find that I tend to eat a little less and get full faster.Seems I lose patience sitting at the table too long, especialy if there is a lot of food.I wanted to see if the self hypnosis worked on its own merit before adding in an exercise program.My goal is to lose 1 pound a week.I have a lot to lose, but have not been sucessful in the long term with other programs I have tried.Every expert I talked toindicates that the bottom line is that it is all in the head.So, what better way to adjust than to change how I think about food and how I eat.So far so good.

Weight Loss: Brain Wave Subliminal [Audio CD]I have tried alot of different books and tapes to try and help me with weight loss. I have to say I was not convinced this one would help any more than the others I already have, but was willing to give it a try and I am glad I did.
The nice thing about this CD you can listen to it at any time, so I am able to pop it into my player at work put on my headphones and enjoy the music. I noticed a difference in my cravings and eating habits within 3 days. I no longer crave the sweets and I can say no thanks to that mid afternoon snack of chips.
This is definetely one of the best investments I have made to help me in my goal to lose weight.
